Advent, Advent

Graphic design · Packaging Design

There are countless Advent calendars – many of them extremely cheap and simply made, many extremely expensive, but not necessarily aesthetically pleasing and only suitable for one-off use. Time to rethink the topic. We wanted our Advent calendar to be of high quality and appeal to people who value good, contemporary design. However, contemporary design also means using materials economically and ecologically. The basic design idea of our Advent calendar can be found in the small stalls and houses that characterize the Christmas markets in German city centers every December. These houses can be used to recreate such a small Christmas village by removing a house from the calendar every day. Of course, each house has enough space for a little surprise. The individual houses are arranged in a particularly space-saving way. This reduces material consumption and transport volume. The design with Braille is based on our corporate design and is also reminiscent of stars or snowflakes against a midnight blue sky. The paper used by Fedrigoni is FSC-certified, while Gmund’s paper is made from plant fibers and can be recycled up to seven times. The printing ink used is water-based.
